Can you run different methods of root cause failure analysis?Well, IntaPeople are proud to be partnered once again with a leading science and engineering organisation, working in industries such as space, oil & gas, rail etc. who are on the search for a Principal Mechanical Consultant.Come and join a leading consultancy firm, with a strong reputation in the industry and a track record of delivering successful projects!To do this role, you will need:

• Sound experience of testing and investigating mechanical components of metals and materials
• Strong technical analysis and analytic problem-solving skills (practical lab investigations and report writing)
• Clear understanding of bearings, gears and other tribological components
• Good knowledge of wear and tear mechanisms of materials, corrosion, stress corrosion cracking (SCC) etc.
• Good understanding of how engineering components, how they function, decline and fail.

Criteria to apply:

• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree and 7+ years professional experience
• Or PhD in relevant field with 2+ years professional experience
• Membership of a professional body would be beneficial
• The right to live and work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
