This PhD position is funded as a part of the EPSRC hub on Probabilistic AI:
The hub brings together investigators across six universities (Edinburgh, Lancaster, Manchester, Bristol, Warwick, Cambridge). The project will have a strong computational focus on Bayesian methods for machine learning and AI. Depending on the students interest topics may include sparsity in Bayesian neural network (and interpreting and understanding uncertainty in the network architecture), sparse approximation of (multilevel) Gaussian processes, and scalable inference.
