Eaton’s Energy Automation Solutions division is currently seeking a Product Owner, ADPS Platform. This position will be located in Brossard (Québec) and offers hybrid work opportunities. Candidates should reside within 80km of Brossard.
The Product Owner, ADPS Platform, is responsible for maximizing the value delivered by the team and ensuring team backlog is aligned with customer and stakeholder needs. The Product Owner is a critical member of the Scrum team and works closely with the Product Manager to contribute to product roadmaps and align the team to the business strategy.
What you’ll do:
• Accountable: Define release and sprint goals by updating and prioritizing the team backlog. Ensure user stories are accurate, understood by development team, align to product vision, and acceptance criteria is well-defined. Validate compliance to definition of done and issue approval.
• Agile: Lead backlog refinement, actively participate in all Scrum ceremonies and planning execution. Play an instrumental role in helping mitigate impediments that impact the teams’ successful completion of release/sprint goals.
• Alignment: Meet regularly with stakeholders to define and prioritize feature enhancements as well as technical debt and defects.
• Customer Focus: Represent the needs of the customers and the business, in alignment and collaboration with Product Manager. Ensure the team is building the right thing with a customer-centric mindset.
• Support: Manage internal escalations from customer support including prioritization, communication, and resolution.
• Deployment: Organize and manage all releases including the major and minor releases, critical fixes, service packs and support project management in planning for future releases.
• Roadmap: Contribute to the product vision and roadmap, coordinating with Product Management.
• Relationships: Build and manage key relationships, interpret information from multiple sources, and communicate effectively to various audiences.
• Communication: Balance stakeholder perspectives and expectations, communicate priority changes, manage dependencies, and negotiate with confidence to challenge preconceptions of outcomes and solutions.
• Technical: Possess the technical acumen and knowledge to credibly challenge implementation decisions and promote modern development practices.
• Motivate: Inspire and motivate the development teams to deliver innovative and exciting solutions with an appropriate sense of urgency.
• Adaptability: Adapt to changes, gain followship, and quickly respond to adjusting priorities based on evolving business needs.
• Mentor: Act as counselor to business counterparts, implementation team, and management on requirements and capabilities.
• Learner: Stay abreast of technology trends, market drivers, Agile practices, and modern product development processes.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in delivering software projects, acting as a product owner or project manager. Or 5 years of product development or testing experience on an Agile Team or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Solid knowledge of Agile project management principles or PMP (or similar) certification. Experience working with an agile team and implementing Agile principles. Demonstrated knowledge of Agile frameworks (i.e., Scrum, Kanban).
• Exceptional ability to lead, collaborate, openly communicate, influence others, present and negotiate effectively across disciplines and stakeholders (marketing, engineering, customer support, etc.).
• Experience in writing clear and concise user stories, functional and non-functional requirements incorporating Acceptance Criteria and Definition of Done.
• Experience with using, designing, and developing: web applications, programming interfaces for REST applications, back-end services (including data processing, database management and business logic).
• Knowledge of cloud computing and cloud-native architecture.
• Fluency in English and French (working proficiency in both languages). Fluency in French and English is required for this position to communicate with colleagues, customers, and partners located inside and outside of Quebec, as well as to understand technical documentation in the field of our industry.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship now or in the future.
• Candidates must live within an 80-kilometer radius of the Brossard facility.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience presenting to Customers & Leaders, and experience in saying ‘No’ when required.
• In-depth knowledge of Agile project management principles or PMP (or similar) certification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in writing clear and concise user stories, functional and non-functional requirements incorporating Acceptance Criteria and Definition of Done.
• Experience working with customers and stakeholders in Utility Enterprise Software Platforms.
• Working knowledge of system design methodologies and interdependencies of intelligent edge devices and Enterprise Software Platform.

• Demonstrated experience delivering results in an ambiguous and changing environment, with the ability to work independently and be a self-starter, working multi-task on several initiatives at one time, in a fast moving and evolving business.
• Sound judgment and decision-making skills, ability to juggle multiple competing priorities, delegate within team, and ability to work under deadlines.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
