We are looking for an experienced and passionate Occupational Therapist or Social Worker to provide professional leadership to our AHPs and social workers in our Forensic Directorate – which includes the Thames Valley Forensic Mental Health Service and Thames Valley Prisons Mental Health Service.We provide mental health care in secure settings, and the community, for men and women whose needs relate to their mental health, learning disabilities & autism, and risk.You will be a member of the Forensic Directorate multi-disciplinary senior leadership team, and part of, and well supported by, the AHP leadership team across the other directorates in the Trust – a welcoming and passionate group of AHPs: flexible, supportive and open to creative solutions.Reporting directly to the Director of Forensic Mental Health, you will be joining a well-established team, strongly committed to an integrated and reflective model of multi-disciplinary leadership, in which the unique contribution of an AHP perspective is highly valued.Main duties of the jobYou will have the skills to provide excellent professional leadership and champion the values of AHPs in our services. Our largest group of AHPs in the directorate is currently Occupational Therapy, however we want to develop our services to embed AHPs throughout our provision, to meet the needs of the people who use our range of services.This post is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist or Social Worker to contribute to the strategic leadership of a directorate. You will contribute to a holistic approach to leadership, strategic planning, and operational delivery of the Forensic Directorate through your membership of the multi-disciplinary leadership team, supporting a culture of collective leadership, promoting directorate values, service strategy, plans, and priorities.As part of your portfolio, you will take a lead in the development of our peer support worker programme, the Forensic Recovery College, and service user and carer involvement. You will have a key role in delivering and supporting projects across the directorate, that advance the directorate priorities and strategic direction.
