About usThe UCL Advanced Research Computing (ARC) is UCL’s new Centre for infrastructure and innovation in digital research – the supercomputers, datasets, software and people that make computational science and digital scholarship possible.We are an innovative hybrid: a professional services department that delivers reliable and secure infrastructure and services to UCL research groups, and undertake research and innovation activities focused on the application of advanced computational and data intensive research methods, working in partnership with academics from all fields.About the roleAre you a highly motivated administrator with a track-record of supporting research? PRISMs – Professional Research Investment Strategy Managers – is a newly recognised set of roles which focuses on maximising the value of new technologies and digital research-related projects.This position will play a key role in developing and running the CCMI CDT, a collaborative doctoral training centre between UCL and Imperial College London. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic person with solid organisational and managerial skills to help us shape the CDT in such a way that will enable some of the brightest PhD candidates in this field to fulfil their potential. The post is integral to the success of the CDT and offers scope for someone with vision and ambition. The main purpose of the job is to set up and run the CDT on a day to day basis with responsibility for a range of processes, organisational and management duties, and input into the overall strategic direction of the CDT.This role will support a wide range of cutting-edge research and services within the Department and University. Research disciplines are increasingly harnessing new technologies, which have the potential to transform how research from Astronomy to Zoology is undertaken. You will work with a wide range of stakeholders across UCL and externally (e.g. researchers, technical professionals, funders, industry partners).About youARC is looking for an experienced, self-driven individual to support a new and growing Department leading in Academic Research and Professional Service delivery.Applicants will have excellent organisational and time management skills, attention to detail and the ability to collate and present management level information. They will be able to draft correspondence and reports. With excellent written and verbal communication skills the role holder must also demonstrate the capacity to handle conflicting deadlines.
