The school comprises three cognate academic departments – art & media technology, design, and fashion & textiles – and various interdisciplinary research labs and groups, as well as an internationally operative, socially engaged, public gallery.The roleThis new professorship, housed in the Department of Art and Media Technology, is designed to extend, energise and develop our academic leadership capacity in creative research, education, and knowledge exchange. The department encompasses practice and theory across fine art, digital media, games design, creative computing, curating, and cultural leadership, in an actively interdisciplinary environment. Our work engages critically with sustainability, materiality, ecology, and inequality through intersectional feminist, queer, and decolonial frames. This new role will play a critical part in advancing ambitious programs of socially transformative, well-funded research, teaching, and creative practice.About youYou are an artist, researcher and educator whose work combines practice and theory. You have an outstanding record of international research and grant capture, and your work engages critically and creatively with developments in emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning, digital infrastructures and media ecologies in social, political and environmental contexts. You have expertise in (or across) one or more of the following areas: feminist, queer, and decolonial media/technology practices, critical computing, ludic technology and game play, and the interface between technology and environmental and ecological thinking.
