For further information visit the .The School of Business and Management seeks to appoint a professor to join the Accounting and Financial Management Department.This full-time position has two elements: Professor of Accounting (full-time, permanent) and Head of the Accounting and Financial Management Department (three years with the opportunity for renewal for one year).As a Professor of Accounting, you will contribute across the Research and Teaching areas as detailed below. As a department, we are committed to multidisciplinary and responsible research in accounting that engages with contemporary debates in policy, business, and society.As Head of Department, you will be an active member of the School Executive Board and will provide strategic leadership to members of the Department, ensuring that the work of the Department is aligned with the aims and strategy of the School of Business and Management.ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXTThe School of Business and Management is an AACSB accredited School – part of an exclusive group of less than 6% of the world’s business schools. To deliver on our shared research strategy, the School has the following structure for research and impact generation.
- Five discipline-based research departments: Accounting and Financial Management; Marketing; Human Resource Management and Organisational Studies; Strategy, International Business and Entrepreneurship; Digital Innovation and Management.
- Three Research Centres: Centre for Research into Sustainability (CRIS); Digital Organisation and Society (DOS); Centre for Critical and Historical Research on Organisations and Society (CHRONOS)
We are developing more research centres to cultivate activity in emerging disciplinary areas, business analytics, logistics and fintech, to name a few. The School is also a member of the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS), the European Academy of Business in Society (EABIS), the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and are signatories to the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME).This is an exciting time to join us as we are looking to build on our current successes, heritage, and strategic location to become a leading department by investing in all areas of activity.
