Professor of Health Services ResearchWe are seeking to appoint a well-established and motivated individual with commensurate research experience, knowledge and skills as a Professor of Health Services Research to support sustainability and growth within the Centre for Rural Health Sciences. This post is open to local and international applicants from a wide range of disciplinary backgrounds.The successful candidate will be required to conduct high level and impactful research fostering collaborations with key stakeholders within the University as well as regionally, nationally and internationally. You will support a positive, inclusive and collaborative research culture, providing academic leadership, mentoring and support for PhD researchers and early career researchers. The appointee will make a substantial and positive contribution to the strategic direction of the Centre for Rural Health Sciences, actively engaging in relationships with external stakeholders that advance knowledge exchange, and public understanding across the sector. Applicants should have a PhD in a health-related area with an established track record as an accomplished researcher, demonstrating external grant capture, high quality peer reviewed publications and post graduate supervision. Academic management and leadership capabilities, along with a previous significant contribution to REF, and excellent international research reputation are essential.The successful candidate will join a team committed to enhancing education of nurses, midwives and allied health professionals (NMAHPs) across the Highland and Islands and further afield. This is an academic post within the Centre for Rural Health Sciences, which is part of a wider established academic team, involving NMAHP education, research and pedagogical activity.The Centre of Rural Health Sciences is part of the university’s Health, Social Care and Life Sciences subject area that brings together all health researchers and related teaching at UHI. Based in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, we have a campus in Inverness, the capital of the Scottish Highlands, and in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis.
