Do you have strengths in microbiology with ability and ambition to lead an oral microbiology programme to address global health challenges? Are you fascinated by host-microbiome interactions and eager to advance the mechanistic links of oral health and systemic health? Are you keen to use biofilms towards combating antimicrobial resistance or evaluating novel therapeutics? Are you an inspirational leader committed to collaborative interdisciplinary working with strategic partners to deliver research and education excellence?You will join the successful School of Dentistry at Leeds whose vision is to inspire oral healthcare professionals and scientists to innovate and transform global health and quality of life via world leading clinical, educational and research excellence.The University has an established priority for interdisciplinary microbiology research, and sector-leading multidisciplinary research centres of excellence including the newly expanded NIHR Leeds Biomedical Research Centre that brings expertise together from across the University and beyond to deliver impactful change. The appointee will work within the network of Microbiology excellence in the University adding further value to this approach to help deliver the University of Leeds Strategy 2020-30. As a scientist you will have an established international reputation or be on a clear trajectory towards such standing.
