About your role:

The Electric Mobility team supports Indian cities in their journey to be low carbon through applied research, tools, hands-on advice, and by tapping our network of Indian and International experts. Making the move to electric mobility requires a carefully planned strategy that envisions the merging of the transportation and energy sectors and re-envisions relationships between people and vehicles.

WRI India seeks a motivated Program Associate to provide research and writing support to various projects in the electric mobility sector

How your day will unfold:

  • Assist the Project Manager for research on electric mobility, and work with team members and collaborators within and outside WRI on all aspects of project research and knowledge production
  • Engage with government and non-government partners and partners to communicate about ongoing initiatives
  • Present insights/ findings on behalf of WRI India at relevant multi-partner forums
  • Liaise with government partners, academic experts, industry professionals and other external partners to gather primary data, seek collaborations and undertake joint projects
  • Produce project-related presentations, commentaries, blogs and op-eds, reports, policy briefs, grant proposals, working papers and articles to disseminate research, independently and in collaboration with team members
  • Organize, review, and summarize relevant literature and data from multiple sources, under the guidance of the Project lead and team
  • Synthesize recommendations into clear presentations and written reports
  • Conduct data exploration, quantitative research and provide analytical solutions and insights to meet project outputs
  • Contribute and engage with WRI’s research community in India and globally
  • Design approaches to address main questions and challenges posed by our research goals and program objectives

Qualifications and Requirements we seek:

  • Master’s Degree in Transport Engineering or Transport Planning.
  • Post masters- 2 to 4 years of work experience in the area of transport planning, public transport city bus systems, Intermediate Public transport, last mile connectivity, travel demand management, transport policy, capacity building etc
  • You should demonstrate experience in e-bus public transport
  • Fluency in English is required for this position. Regional language would be added advantage.
  • Experience working with Government, civic groups, research institutions and private sector on urban transport projects.
  • Be well-versed with the analytical tools, computer software, literature, they and current developments in sustainable urban transport and road safety
  • Important attributes for this position are innovativeness, independence, confidence, passion, analytical mindset, structured thinking & research-oriented, team-player
  • Lastly, you should subscribe to the principles of sustainable transport and sustainable development
  • Demonstrate analytical skills with hands-on experience in data analytics using python, MySQL and tools.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods including primary and secondary data collection and analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with spatial analytical tools like Arc GIS/QGIS and any other open-source applications. Generate data visualisations on maps
  • Knowledge of policy analysis and provide data-oriented methodologies to identify gaps and potential areas of reform.
  • Experience in academic writing and publishing to produce high-quality research publications.
  • Writing samples need to be attached with the application.

Salary and Benefits: 8,00,000 INR to 9,00,000 INR CTC Per annum

Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.

Location: Ahmedabad, India
