About the Program:
Australia Awards are provided to build the skills and knowledge of individuals so that they can contribute to their country’s development, and to support the ongoing development of links between Australia and the countries to which it provides development assistance. The Australia Awards are an important part of the Australian Government’s focus on public and economic diplomacy, and provide long-term Scholarships, Fellowships and Short Courses, supported by a range of other capacity-building and training modalities.
Australia Awards – South Asia & Mongolia (AASAM) is administered by Palladium on behalf of the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). The Program goal is to support eight partner countries – Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka – in achieving their development goals through education and knowledge transfer, and to build enduring relationships with Australia that advance mutual interests.
AASAM is a multi-country program with service delivery offices in Colombo, Dhaka, Islamabad, Kathmandu, Thimphu and Ulaanbaatar. Leadership, coordination, and support are provided by “the Hub” – a regional team based in Colombo and Australia.

The position is based in Palladium’s Adelaide or Brisbane office.

Reporting Lines:
The Program Coordinator works closely with, and reports to the Manager, CPD Solutions. The Program Coordinator will also work closely with other AASAM team members and Palladium corporate personnel.
The Program Coordinator will develop and foster external and internal relationships, liaise directly with sub-contracted personnel and organisations (external stakeholders), the client, and seek opportunities to develop relationships with the broader internatio nal education/learning and development industry in Australia and beyond.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
The Program Coordinator will research and identify good practice professional development activities, identify opportunities to improve systems and processes, and coordinate the Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Minimum Requirements/Key Selection Criteria:
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in program and/or project coordination or management and the use of tools to efficiently plan, implement, monitor, report and evaluate activities and finances in accordance with required standards.
2. Demonstrated excellence in clien t and stakeholder relationship management using a variety of face to face and online tools.
3. Representative experience, including speaking at public events involving senior officials from within Australia and across the South Asia region.
4. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and exercise judgement in decision making.
5. Demonstrated ability to use initiative and show resilience and flexibility in response to change.
6. Demonstrated ability to contribute ideas to enhance delivery of short courses and APOs.
7. Demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet deadlines, to multi-task and to solve problems efficiently and effectively.
8. Understanding, or the ability to quickly develop understanding of the Australian tertiary education landscape.
9. Ability to review, revise and produce documentation to professional standards.
Desired
1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in ed ucation, international development, international relations or project management.
2. Knowledge of the Australian Aid Program and Australia Awards.
3. Knowledge of the South Asia region and awareness of cultural sensitivities.
