Position Summary:

Habitat for Humanity Jordan (HFHJ) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable housing solutions and improving living conditions for vulnerable populations in Jordan. As part of our commitment to sustainable development and community empowerment, HFHJ has established the Revolving Fund Program to provide financial assistance to families in need of housing improvements. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Revolving Fund Program, ensuring its effective implementation, and supporting families in accessing financial support for housing improvements. The Program Coordinator will be based in Amman, involved in the implementation of Revolving Fund Program activities, supporting field operations, overseeing program activities, managing financial aspects of the loan fund to partners.

Additionally, HFHJ is implementing a Volunteering Program in Jordan to assist local communities and families in building homes with volunteer support. Under the supervision of the Revolving Fund Manager, the Program Coordinator will organize volunteer participation, coordinate with local volunteers, promote volunteerism among communities, and act as a liaison between the sending program and hosting communities, involved in implementing volunteering activities and ensuring timely program delivery in compliance with HFHI’s goals and objectives, while maintaining impartiality and neutrality in all stakeholder interactions. This role is central to HFH Jordan’s mission, fostering connections, facilitating learning experiences, and ensuring that volunteers feel valued and supported throughout their journey.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute plans for the Revolving Fund Program, aligning with HFHJ’s mission.
  • Coordinate fund disbursement, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Provide technical assistance and expertise for housing improvements via local partners.
  • Conduct site visits to assess needs and monitor project progress, providing technical guidance as needed.
  • Create and deliver training on financial management, construction, and project planning.
  • Build and maintain relationships with communities, the Social Development Directorate, CBOs, government agencies, financial institutions, and donors.
  • Offer ongoing support to participants & partners for successful housing improvements.
  • Document the program’s impact through database management, photos, and success stories, and prepare reports for stakeholders and donors.
  • Implement systems to track program progress and impact.
  • Foster community engagement to enhance Habitat for Humanity programs.
  • Manage loan portfolios, prepare MOUs and loan agreements to fund families, and apply KPIs for funding performance and loan management.
  • Implement safeguarding protocols among volunteers, staff, and communities, raising awareness and monitoring adherence to safeguarding principles.
  • Oversee construction activities, including determining the scope of work, estimating Bills of Quantities (BoQ), coordinating with contractors, ensuring timely delivery of materials, and suggesting structural proposals for variations or additional works.
  • Maintain accurate records of construction activities for project evaluation and reporting and ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Develop quality assurance and control guidelines to ensure compliance with agreed work plans, technical specifications, and HFH quality standards.
  • Any related tasks asked by the direct supervisor.

Required Knowledge & Expertise

Minimum:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, international development, business administration, or a related field.
  • Years of Related Experience: A minimum of three years in program management, community development, or a related field. Experience in non-profit organization development and volunteering program management is strongly preferred. candidates should have three or more years of experience in an international NGO, ideally with Habitat for Humanity or a similar non-profit organization.

Qualifications:

  • Strong project management skills in planning, implementing, and monitoring development programs.
  • Leadership experience and the ability to manage volunteers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for diverse stakeholder collaboration.
  • Strong writing and public speaking abilities.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity, diplomacy, and adaptability.
  • Basic accounting skills.
  • Commitment to Habitat Vision, Mission, Goals, Values, and Servant Leadership principles.
  • Problem-solving skills with innovative and creative solutions.
  • High flexibility and adaptability.
  • Minimum experience of 4 – 6 years in related work in engineering, construction, and structural technology, and housing construction including materials, techniques, and regulations.
