Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest growing nature conservation organisations
and seeks to appoint a Project Assistant – South.
The Project Assistant will work with the Project Officers and Project Manager to help deliver a
range of environmentally based projects throughout the south region. Delivery may be on YWT
owned nature reserves, partner sites, and sites where we have management contracts. The
postholder will assist with projects at all project stages, from opportunity identification,
project design to on the ground delivery.
The role will require delivery of a personal annual work programme which will contribute to
project development and delivery in the south region. Key activities include walkovers to
assess habitat and river conditions and potential opportunities, project design and development
including working with established partners (e.g., EA, local authorities or NE), supervising
contractors and practical tasks which will involve the supervision of teams of volunteers, use
of hand and power tools and implementation of a range of habitat management and monitoring
techniques.
