BACKGROUND
The position will support the Programme Manager in the implementation of the project ‘Himalayas for Future- Phase II’ Implementation in India and also support in developing new engagements under the Species and Habitats thematic area.

In addition to providing general support in portfolio’s undertaken project administration, the position is primarily responsible for the following and with the approval of the Programme Manager:

• Provide technical, coordination, and strategic support to the project activities.
• Support in the implementation of project activities to be conducted as part of the project portfolio.
• Assist Programme Manager with synthesising project reports and other project deliverables.

JOB DESCRIPTION
SPECIFIC DUTIES:

• Support in implementation of HFF Phase II Project in accordance with the agreed project work plan and timelines.
• Facilitate implementation of project activities as per the workplan agreed with the donor,
• Ensure coordination with the global team, other IUCN programmes, colleagues and partners working on species conservation in other countries, to maximize synergies and share good practice;
• Coordinate and participate in field activities related to capacity building workshops/meetings, biodiversity assessments and surveys, ecosystem services reviews and the continuous monitoring of survey by consultants in the field,
• Support and prepare ToRs, contracts, agreements as and when required for the project implementation as per the IUCN guidelines
• Prepare workplans, budgets, technical reports as per donor requirements
• Conduct field missions for project implementation, as necessary
• Technical and project support, though desk research, consultation process capacity building, communication and networking with multiple stakeholders
• Assist in the implementation and development of the Species and IUCN Knowledge Products (Red List, NbS) project portfolio;
• Collaborate with the communications officer to provide technical inputs and guidance on the development of communication products and materials.
• Support planning, organisation and delivery of project meetings, workshops and events;
• Support development and delivery of project communication outputs;
• Provide a range of administrative support functions on a day-to-day basis transversal to several projects (e.g. processing of invoices, issuing consultancy contracts, etc.);
• Conduct technical research and lead the development of new project proposals and initiatives for expanding the Species programme activities in India;
• Carry out any other duties as per advice of the Line Manager and the Country Representative, IUCN India. This may include assisting the IUCN India Country Office and the country programme in programme development, organising events and other activities/tasks as required.

REQUIREMENTS
• Qualifications & Experience Required for the position

Formal / Academic Education:
Master’s Degree (or higher) in Natural Resource management, environmental sciences, Sustainability Management, Ecology or a related field

Training & Experience:
At least 1 year of experience in biodiversity conservation and good understanding of sustainability related to corporate sector.

Language skills:
Fluency in English, Hindi

SALARY
The minimum gross annual salary for this position is INR 1’060’505. While this is an indicative amount effective as of the current date, changes may occur as per IUCN’s compensation practices without prior notice. The same applies to other organisations hosted by IUCN.
