Help Shape the Future of Beaver Recovery Across the Humber Catchment

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Project Co-ordinator to lead the delivery of the ambitious Species Recovery Programme-funded project, “Preparing for Beavers Across the Humber Catchment.”

This exciting role sits at the heart of one of the UK’s most significant nature recovery initiatives. Working with a diverse partnership of Wildlife Trusts, environmental organisations, statutory agencies, landowners, water companies and local authorities, you will coordinate efforts to enable the successful reintroduction and long-term coexistence of wild beavers across the Humber River Basin.

If you are an experienced conservation professional with excellent project management skills, a collaborative approach, and a passion for species recovery, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role

As the Humber Beaver Partnership (HBP) Co-ordinator, you will oversee the day-to-day delivery of this high-profile project, ensuring partners work effectively together to achieve shared goals for beaver reintroduction and coexistence.

You will provide project leadership and coordination across a broad partnership, managing project delivery, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and the development of the necessary mechanisms and frameworks to support a long term successful wild beaver population across the Humber River Basin that will benefit both people and other wildlife.

The role combines project management, partnership development, staff supervision, ecological understanding and stakeholder engagement, offering a unique opportunity to influence conservation outcomes at a landscape scale.

About You

We’re looking for a motivated conservation professional who can bring people together, manage complex projects, and inspire others to achieve shared outcomes.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • A Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
  • Excellent management skills with the ability to motivate, inspire and develop a highly effective team
  • Experience in managing complex projects, partnerships and stakeholder relationships, including delivering habitat restoration, nature-based solutions and/or species recovery projects
  • Demonstrable experience of planning and delivering practical conservation and countryside management activities

Why Join Us?

This is a rare opportunity to play a leading role in one of England’s most exciting species recovery projects. By bringing together partners from across the Humber catchment, you will help create the foundations for the successful return of beavers and deliver long-term benefits for biodiversity, climate resilience and local communities.

Join us and help shape the future of nature recovery across the Humber.

This post is subject to a Basic DBS Check. You will be required to travel so a driving licence is essential. We are planning to hold interviews on the 5th October 2026.
