Position Details: Full-time, Permanent, New Position
Salary Range: $66,100 – $82,600 based on a 35-hour work week. Salary for this position will be commensurate with the successful applicant’s education and/or experience as it relates to the position.

Closing Deadline: January 8, 2025 (11:59PM EDT)What You Will DoReporting to the Manager of Major Projects, supported by the Project Governance Framework, the Project Control Analyst will assist in managing projects performance with a focus on cost, schedule and reporting across various divisions within DUC. The Project Control Analyst will be a leader within the organization bringing expertise, knowledge, and a sense of order to project delivery analysis and reporting.Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Support in the development and growth of DUC’s Project Management Office by assisting in creating and refining Project Management processes and templates for use across the organization.
  • In collaboration with project owners, perform all aspects of project management reporting, including developing and maintaining project schedules. Ensuring that tasks are completed according to the timeline.
  • In collaboration with the project owners, track project expenses, forecast costs, and manage the financial aspects of the project by maintaining the forecast and actuals workbook.
  • Define and monitor the achievement of milestones/deliverables, ensuring service and quality standards, budgets and project deliverables follow organization standards, policies and procedures.
  • Contribute as a key member of a project team, identifying and recommending/taking action on project-related risks and opportunities, alerting management to critical issues and risks.
  • Identify and resolve project issues and risks such as those related to scheduling, resourcing, cost-overruns, conflicting agendas, and technical issues. Support the project team in resolving other project related issues.
  • Monitor project performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) like Earned Value Management (EVM) to ensure adherence to the schedule and budget.
  • Present and report on the projects’ progress, risks, expectations, timelines, milestones, suggestions, recommendations, and key project metrics to senior leadership teams.
  • Assist with the preparation of contracts, Requests for Proposals (RFP), Request for Information (RFI) and tender documents for projects, including terms and conditions, scope of work definition, technical requirements, project specific requirements, project schedule constraints and other related project deliverables.
  • Utilize project management standards to ensure that adopted practices and processes are applied throughout the project life-cycle.
  • Provide guidance related to Change Management and Business Analysis within project(s) when a designated resource is not assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of Project Control Analyst or Project Coordination experience in medium to large projects
  • Post secondary diploma in Business, Finance or Commerce.
  • Proficiency in Project Management tools and software (e.g. MS Project).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite of tools and software (e.g. Excel, Visio).
  • Knowledge of Project Management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members, stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel within Canada to suit the needs of the Project(s).
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP, CAPM, Prince2, or SCRUM) is an asset.
  • Experience or education with Change Management and Business Analysis is an asset.
