The successful applicant will be expected to lead, manage and be responsible for all aspects of the administrative coordination and financial management of research projects aligned to the Centre for Mathematical Modelling of Infectious Diseases. 

As the first point of contact for those research projects, the post-holder will provide guidance on their management and administration, from funding costings for application, project set up, management and closure (the complete life cycle), working closely with the Principal Investigators (PIs) and liaising with partner institutions where necessary.

Applicants must possess substantial experience of providing proactive administrative support of academic research, including proven ability to monitor large budgets and prepare accurate costings, projections and reports. The successful candidate must be able to prove their ability to use initiative and judgement to solve problems; to manage a busy workload; and work to a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Experience of managing large complex grants would be an advantage. Further particulars are included in the job description.

The post is part time (0.6FTE) and available from the 1 July 2023 until 31 August 2024 in the first instance with possibility to extend depending on funding. 

The salary will be on the Professional Services salary scale Grade 5 in the range £37,531-£42,875 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
