You’ll be responsible for:
- Evaluates expenses and cost transactions; ensures that transactions are recorded accurately and assigned to the appropriate control accounts and contracts.
- Provides detailed financial analysis and reports of expenses, includes breakdowns of project costs, forecasts of remaining cost, and opportunities to increase efficiency.
- Supports the development of integrated cost reporting and project dashboard across the project.
- Works across the functions to align the cost breakdown structure to the work- and risk break down structures.
- Supports the preparation for, and execution of QCRA across multiple contracts and the integrated project position.
- Uses the cost data and intelligence to engage across the contracting authority to underpin project decision making.
- Supports the contract administration team in the cost/invoice reconciliation process.
- Provides cost intelligence, including knowledge and data from industry, to support the development of scenarios that can manage the Indirect Costs
- Provides cost impact analysis for all impacting proposed changes and presenting scenarios and options that best protect contracting authority’s position.
- Conducts market research as needed to recommend changes to pricing or business models.
- Prepares periodic cost reconciliation reports tracking data such as changing labor and supply costs.
- Captures lessons learnt from other project in the capital portfolio.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
You’ll need to have:
- Ability to manage large complex financial models and budget plans.
- Understanding of capital project life cycle from asset needs definition, conceptual design and planning, project delivery, and operational commissioning.
- Working in a multi-disciplinary team environment with client facing experience.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software as well as ERP accounting software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business required or directly related experience.
- Estimating and cost analyst or engineer experience.
- Experience in capital project management at the client or prime consultant organization level.
- Certifications with AACE or PMI are an asset but not mandatory.
