Seeking Project Lead for NRW’s First “Rheinpreneur Startup Award”

ABOUT SINGA DEUTSCHLAND
SINGA Deutschland is a non-profit organisation that aims to build inclusive societies and innovative economies by fostering connections between newcomers and locals. Rather than focusing on differences in national origins, SINGA celebrates individual identities and talents.

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Project Lead to take on the first Rheinpreneur Startup Award in 2025, in collaboration with Targobank. The project aims to empower newcomer entrepreneurs in the NRW region and create a more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem. You will adapt the existing model of the Berlin Newcomer Startup Award to the NRW context. This is a pilot project, but has the potential to be replicated annually if successful. You would occasionally travel to Berlin to collaborate with the directorship, but be primarily working in the NRW region.

Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive project plan, budget, and resources tailored to the NRW entrepreneurship ecosystem.
    • Coordinate with an event manager and suppliers (e.g., catering, photographer, trophies) for the event in June 2025.
  • Financial Management:

    • Manage the project budget and ensure responsible and transparent use of resources.
  • Stakeholder Management:

    • Build and manage relationships with jury members, mentors, potential investors, and partners in the NRW region.
  • Event Management:

    • Oversee all aspects of the Rheinpreneur Award event, including logistics, venue selection, marketing, and communications.
  • Applicant Support:

    • Provide guidance to applicants, organize info sessions, workshops, pitch training, and mentorship opportunities.
  • Community Engagement:

    • Engage with local communities and organizations to promote the Rheinpreneur Award and SINGA’s mission.
    • Learn about industries and businesses in West Germany to tailor outreach effectively.
  • Reporting:

    • Provide regular updates and reports to SINGA leadership on project progress and outcomes.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with Entrepreneurship Ecosystems:

    • Foundational understanding of business models, funding, and startup challenges in the NRW region.
  • Commitment to Inclusion and Diversity:

    • Passion for SINGA’s mission and understanding of local migration demographics and the needs of newcomer entrepreneurs.
  • Network Development:

    • Proven ability to build and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Project and Event Management:

    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks with deadlines.
    • Track record of successfully organizing and executing events.
  • Communication Skills:

    • Fluent in German and English, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
    • Additional language skills from newcomer communities (e.g., Turkish, Arabic) are an asset.
  • Desirable Experience:

    • Personal experience with migration or a deep understanding of newcomer challenges and opportunities.
    • Familiarity with the German startup landscape and entrepreneur support systems.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of newcomer entrepreneurs.
  • A dynamic and international work environment.
  • The chance to contribute to a growing and impactful organization.
  • Flexible working hours with the possibility of remote work.
  • Support from the SINGA Berlin team and the global SINGA network.
