Startec Compression & Process is currently recruiting a Project Manager to work at our Glenmore Office location (Suite 240, 4000 Glenmore Court SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 5R8).The Project Manager will lead a team of engineering, procurement, and project services personnel to deliver projects on budget and schedule. In addition to fabricating equipment packages, Startec provides full-service engineering, procurement, and fabrication services to clients in oil and gas and other industries. Startec is looking for a Project Manager with experience in engineering and construction of a variety of packages (gas compression, refrigeration, process, etc.). This position actively participates in a culture of constant improvement with direction, development, and execution of progressive solutions within the Project Management Department.KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI):PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND DELIVERY (Weighting 50%)
Project Delivery Oversight

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and requirements, and comply with all regulatory environment and health & safety requirements.
  • Manage multiple domestic and/or international projects.
  • Responsible for full project flow and management as per Startec Project Management processes, including project initiation, kick-off, execution, monitoring & control, delivery & closeout.

Change Management and Order Processing

  • Accountable for monitoring project performance and preparing progress reports.
  • Clearly communicate and manage project deliverables (including tasks, deadlines, risks, etc.) to the project team, ensuring adequate resources are assigned to deliverables.
  • Management of change including preparing, reporting, and managing project-related change orders in accordance with Startec processes.

STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT (Weighting 30%)
Client Communication

  • Manage the interface and relationships with clients and subcontractors on projects.
  • Manage client communication, correspondence, and reporting to maintain and build valuable relationships.

Support and Specification Management:

  • Review and understand commercial proposals and client specifications as related to projects, ensuring built projects are reflective of agreed deliverables.
  • Provide support to the Service group during start-up/commissioning.

LEADERSHIP AND TEAM DEVELOPMENT (Weighting 20%)
Continuous Improvement

  • Promote Startec Core Values both internally and externally with teammates, co-workers, customers, and vendors,
  • Be an active participant and promote our HSE management system at Startec. Complete HSE training and attend HSE meetings as required.
  • Supervision and mentoring of Junior Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s).
  • Professionally and proactively identify, communicate, and resolve project conflicts/roadblocks/learnings as they arise

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Engineering Degree and/or Project Management certification (PMP) combined with oil and gas industry-related experience, preferably in facility engineering and construction.
  • 10+ years in a Project Management role.
  • Previous supervisory experience of Jr. Project Manager(s)/Project Engineer(s) and others an asset.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint) is required.
  • Excellent communication skills that promote long-term mutually beneficial relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Exceptional ability to positively influence, negotiate and manage conflict.
  • Strong attention to detail and proven ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and multi-task.
