About the PositionATS Traffic is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Estimating and Project Management team!This position is accountable in helping the E&PM team grow our turnkey installation business in key locations across Canada and is responsible in producing competitive and accurate quotes for installation opportunities while also managing and coordinating resources to ensure the completion of jobs on-time and on-budget.Are you a team player, problem solver, detail-oriented and thrives working under pressure?   • Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates.
  • Preparing final bid, complete with mark-up strategy based on market conditions.
  • Responsible for all project invoicing.
  • Attend project kickoff and site meetings.
  • Provide project support in resolving contractual disputes.
  • Manage the budget and control expenditures.
  • Process subcontract agreements and administration.
  • Procurement of materials and payment of invoices.
  • Conduct internal kickoff meetings with Sales and Install teams.
  • Direct liaison with owner/contractor and installers.
  • Solicit pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Manage subcontractor scope and expenses.
  • Manage traffic accommodation plans necessary for field crews to work safely on the road.
  • Resolve project obstacles, challenges and disputes.
  • Prepare and submit all documentation as required by each project.
  • Work with branch install managers to provide leadership and direction to install supervisors and field crews.
  • Support and train Junior Project Coordinators or Co-Op Students to do their tasks effectively.
  • Use PMBOK techniques and best practices to effectively manage and successfully complete project deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Civil, Mechanical or Structural Engineering Degree, related Technical degree or equivalent experience in roadbuilding and heavy construction.
  • Must have at least 5 years experience in the construction of road signs, guardrail, cable barrier and overhead sign structures – including design, foundation and installation.
  • Must have prior experience as a project coordinator or project manager in roadbuilding and heavy construction.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Able to work under pressure and tight timelines.
  • Ability to work overtime.
  • Flexibility to travel.
  • Team player with strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be resourceful, initiative and thinks outside the box.
  • Ability to resolve project issues and conflicts.
  • Ability to successfully perform tasks with very minimal supervision.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.

Bachelor’s degree
