At present we have two budlings and retrofit projects within our innovation portfolio – Let

looking to address the issue of poor housing conditions in the Private Rented Sector, including
damp and mould and high carbon emissions.

Let Zero is funded by Innovate UK Government and is an 18-month project from April 2024 – Sept
2025 with multiple project partners, including local construction and low carbon technology
suppliers and installers.

Pure Leapfrog is responsible for the delivery of a One Stop Shop in South Yorkshire that will
provide advice to landlords and tenants regarding retrofit, decarbonisation and issues relating
to damp and mould.

Our Retrofit for Lets project is funded by the North West Net Zero Hub is comprises of three

We are looking for a project manager with experience of managing government grant funded

contact with the funding bodies and be responsible for the administration of managing the
project budgets, the financial claims, as well as co-ordination the workstreams and subject
matter experts.

We are actively expanding our portfolio of projects and services, so beyond these two projects,
you may be called upon to contribute to project delivery across themes of Energy, Sustainable
Finance, Carbon, and Natural Capital.

Duties

  • Lead and co-ordinate the partner meetings – ensuring actions are followed up
  • Ensure co-ordination with the workstreams / subject matter experts to ensure a successful
    project delivery
  • You will manage budgets for both projects and work closely with the work stream leads and
the finance team to ensure budgets are on target (actuals vs forecast) and claims are made on
    time.
  • Ensure the Finance department has all evidence to submit claims (invoices, receipts,
timesheets, payroll info) and ensure accuracy.
  • Work with the Finance department to ensure claims are compliant with the funder’s
    requirements and submitted on time.
  • Manage the relationship with the funding bodies, clarify any eligibility issues with the
Monitoring Officer and the internal team.
  • Ensure the relevant project management and financial system(s) information is kept up to
date and accurate at all times with comprehensive, accurate files maintained to evidence an
    appropriate audit trail.
  • Manage Project Change Requests
  • Populating reports
  • Project support: setting up project meetings / site visits etc
  • Risk management
  • Any other duties that may be reasonably expected in the delivery of this role.

Person Specification

These are innovation projects, and we are trialling new technical and
commercial solutions that will contribute towards the transition to net zero, and therefore
there will be many unknowns during the project life cycle. This means we are looking for
someone who is comfortable with the unknowns and is proactive and motivated to project manage
and drive the projects forward and see opportunities for co-ordination.

It is essential that you have experience project managing government grant funded projects,
and that you have a keen attention for detail and have the confidence to flag queries with the
team and with external contractors. You must have an ability to spot discrepancies in information with the
initiative to investigate further.

We welcome applications from anyone who feels qualified to apply and is interested in doing
so. We particularly encourage anyone who might be returning to work, is switching career,
requires flexible working or job share, has additional needs, or in some other way may feel
excluded from this kind of opportunity, to make an application.

It is desirable that:

  • You have knowledge in improving the energy efficiency of homes or have experience in a
field closely related to enhancing the quality of homes, such as the housing sector or
    construction industry.
  • You have insight into the wider energy system, and the challenges to decarbonise the grid,
    transport and heating.
  • You have an interest in innovation and behaviour change.
  • You understand what social impact is and have an understanding of issues such as fuel
    poverty, economic deprivation and exclusion.

Our culture

The Pure Leapfrog group is committed to being a socially and environmentally
impactful organisation. We value our team, our communities and the organisations we work with
and seek to treat them with respect. We try to live by the principles we expect of the
communities and organisations we work with including equal opportunities, inclusivity,
diversity, health and safety, and environmental sustainability.

Location

  • This role is home based.
  • UK based travel may be required from time to time for other work and to meet with the
    wider team.

Please apply in writing, enclosing a copy of your CV and a letter telling us what interests you
about this job and what you would bring to it. The closing date is midnight on Sunday 11 August
2024.

Applications should be clearly marked “Project Manager” and
