Join us, and together, let’s shape a brighter future for B.C.Position OverviewAs Project Manager – Closeout, you will foster and coordinate external and internal project teams and skills to ensure project requirements are met utilizing project management fundamentals of scope, budget, schedule, and risk management. You will be responsible for closeout of all Major Projects in execution, including ensuring all records applicable for closeout are in the correct format, been reviewed and approved, and with the collaboration with our records team, prepare the transfer to FileNet. In addition to closeout, you will be required to collaborate with the project teams and all applicable departments to review and obtain acceptance on the design and constructability of the project through to gasification & turnover and sign-off with Operations and Asset Management.In this role, you will:

  • Learn Project Management Tools used to monitor and control overall project development and execution
  • Develop project budgets and monitor to ensure project financial control
  • Engage with all departments to ensure a constant delivery of closing out projects
  • Develop plans and document a consistent process
  • Understand and manage project scope and monitor influences to successful outcomes
  • Understand risk management principles and application to assigned projects
  • Ability to manage many projects at the same time
  • Challenge the status quo and look for better ways to improve business processes
  • Identify and communicate any changes to your partners including unforeseen changes to the project
  • Co-ordinate and assign resources to achieve project requirements
  • Schedule and organize resources appropriately
  • Define records which will reside in the Master Document Registry (MDR)

What it takes:

  • An engineering degree (P.Eng). or diploma of technology (AScT), or equivalent education and work experience
  • Knowledge of effective resource planning and scheduling
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of fundamental project management processes
  • Learning the unique regulatory environment and the required permitting
  • Demonstrated and effective organizational, time management and analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Understand project accounting and related cost objectives
  • Field construction experience especially with excavations, fabrication, and safety management
  • Ability to build strong, honest and transparent relationships
  • Ability to communicate details in a timely and concise manner to lay personnel
