This is a one-year fixed term opportunity to be based in Lusaka, Zambia. Renewal will be subject to availability of funding.

The Role:

Key Responsibilities:

•    Project Management: Lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of all activities under the Cultivating Change Project in alignment with SIDA Phase 3 objectives and Oxfam’s guidelines.
•    Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain effective relationships with project stakeholders, including government agencies, partner organizations, community leaders, and beneficiaries, to ensure collaboration and buy-in for project activities.
•    Capacity Building: Identify capacity gaps among project staff, partners, and community members and design and deliver appropriate training and capacity-building interventions to enhance their skills and knowledge in sustainable agriculture, market access, and gender equality.
•    Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and support to project staff and partners on best practices in sustainable agriculture, natural resource management, climate-smart technologies, and other relevant areas.
•    Gender Mainstreaming: Ensure that gender considerations are integrated into all project activities and promote women’s participation and leadership in decision-making processes.
•    Monitoring and Evaluation: Develop and implement robust monitoring and evaluation systems to track project progress, measure impact, and identify lessons learned and best practices for continuous improvement.
•    Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate narrative and financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including donor reports, highlighting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
•    Knowledge Management: Facilitate the documentation and dissemination of project successes, case studies, and best practices to contribute to organizational learning and promote accountability and transparency.

What we are looking for: 

We’re looking for a candidate who cares about Oxfam’s mission to end poverty and is personally aligned to our feminist principles and values of empowerment, accountability and inclusion in all you do.

An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:

 •    Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Development Studies, Environmental Science, or a related field.
•    At least 5 years of progressive experience in project management, preferably in the fields of agriculture, food security, or rural development.
•    Proven experience in working with international NGOs, donors, government agencies, and community-based organizations.
•    Strong understanding of gender issues and demonstrated experience in promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment in development projects.
•    Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
•    Solid knowledge of monitoring and evaluation principles and experience in developing and implementing M&E frameworks and tools.
•    Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
•    Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages spoken in Zambia is an asset.
