Not-for-profit organisation Groundwork South have an exciting opportunity to care for Iver Environment Centre – near Uxbridge and Slough
Could you be the person to look after Iver Environment Centre? On our stunning 2.5-acre site you can find ponds, meadow and trees, a myriad of protected species including newts, grass snakes and badgers, breathtaking allotments, a habitats themed play area and some inspiring teaching spaces.
We are looking for a well organised person to ensure our site is the best it can be. You will keep it safe through regular checks (training provided) and co-ordinate contractors for maintenance and capital works. You will enjoy working with our volunteers on gardening tasks and not be afraid to tackle surprises such as a leaky pipe. Understanding of grant funding and the need to complete projects by a fixed deadline will be helpful.
The Project Officer will be someone who takes pride in places and equipment. Someone who cannot walk past a problem without addressing it. You should be a good communicator with excellent time management skills and an interest in the natural world. You must be a friendly person committed to equal access as well as being comfortable working with computers to manage calendars and process invoices. In return you will receive training and networking opportunities, including accredited qualifications in first aid and fire marshaling.
Flexible working hours will be considered as long as you can meet the needs of the role (being on site at certain times to meet contractors and to carry out routine tasks).
For key requirements of the role please see the personal specification attached to the Job Description on our website.
In return we offer you:
We are a creative, committed and enthusiastic organisation with a great track record of project development, fundraising and delivery, so there are always opportunities to grow and develop your role within our friendly team.
