Victim Support Europe

Victim Support Europe (VSE) is the leading European umbrella organisation that advocates on behalf of all victims of crime, no matter what the crime, no matter who the victim. Since its foundation in 1990, VSE has worked on behalf of all European – and global – victims to ensure their rights and services, whether they have reported a crime or not.

We are currently looking for two full time Project Interns. The position will run for 6 months, starting in June 2024. The key candidate will be highly organised, attentive to details, have good drafting skills, a pro-active and dynamic approach, the ability to solve problems and create solutions using their own initiative. The selected interns will have the chance to work in an international environment, together with a dynamic and diverse group of skilled professionals.

Key activities:

  • Support the implementation and delivery of projects including preparation and organization of and participation in project meetings, co-drafting of deliverables and reports, communication with project partners, supporting dissemination of project activities;
  • Contribute to the development of project proposals including research, drafting, proofreading, editing, collecting and sharing administrative documents;
  • Support research in the context of EU funded projects, including analysing qualitative data, drafting of policy papers, reports and other relevant documents;
  • Contribute to the administrative and financial reporting of projects;
  • Preparation of relevant documents for project related events and activities.

Skills & Experience:

  • Relevant degree in law, victimology, psychology, political science, international relations or other relevant fields;
  • Strong research, analytical and drafting skills;
  • Experience in project development and implementation (familiarity with EU projects is an asset);
  • Knowledge and/or experience in victims’ rights and issues is an advantage;
  • Knowledge of EU institutions and EU decision making process;
  • Previous experience in an NGO is a plus;
  • Fluent oral and written skills in English, knowledge of another EU language is an advantage;

Terms of the contract

The position is based in VSE’s head office in Brussels, Belgium. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the EU.The selected candidate will be offered a Belgian Convention d’immersion professionnelle (CIP) (38 hours/week) subject to a payment of 1015 euros per month.

Desired starting date of assignment: June 2024.
