Title: Property / Operations Manager for Private EstateA large Rosedale estate is seeking an experienced Property/Operations Manager to ensure the smooth management of all maintenance and operational systems on the property, both interior and exterior. The Operations Manager will be responsible for all property maintenance, mechanical systems, large and small projects and all vendor management. They will also have an overview of a large garden. They are assisted in the management of the garden by a team of professionals that includes arborists, horticulturalists, a general gardening team and a pool service.Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all systems and equipment on the property are functioning daily
  • Plan, manage and execute daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly tasks
  • Update Mechanical Systems and Maintenance Manuals as required
  • Vet, schedule and supervise all trades, vendors and seasonal maintenance contracts
  • Maintain a monthly preventative maintenance schedule
  • Manage seasonal property openings and closings (spring and fall)
  • Maintain all security systems and interface with security company as required
  • Maintain all vehicles including service checks, seasonal tire changes, cleanliness and preparedness
  • Ensure that all exterior surfaces are maintained daily and the property presents as very well kept
  • Check exterior and interior lighting systems regularly
  • Garbage management (the property has private garbage pickup)
  • Ensure that the garden is kept to a pristine standard ensuring that all paths are cleared, beds are detailed (the gardening crew manages most of this task, but the Property Manager will ensure that the household standards are met)
  • Follow established procedures to ensure pest and critter control on the property.
  • In winter season ensure that all walkways and driveway are clear of snow and ice (the property has a service to do this, but the Property Manager will again ensure that the household standards are met)
  • Maintain all inventories for tools, equipment and supplies necessary to maintain the property
  • Manage ad-hoc tasks, projects and assignments as required to ensure the property is fully functional and immaculate
  • Respond to any property issues on an on-call basis. 24-hour emergency response for any major crisis is required and be familiar with all emergency systems
  • End of day security check for entire house and property
  • Occasional driving

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable previous experience in property management, construction management, site supervision, and/or related experience with verifiable references.
  • Hands on skill set for performing “odd jobs” and basic maintenance of all kinds
  • Project management experience
  • Strong vendor management experience
  • Basic landscaping and pool maintenance knowledge/experience
  • Must be self-motivated and engaged, with a passion for excellence and continuous improvement
  • Must be a self-starter who can identify issues and solve them effectively with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to be flexible with work schedule
  • Computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office systems
  • Full Ontario license and clean driving record. A vehicle for work purposes is provided
  • Must be legal to work in Canada (no sponsorship) and have a clear criminal record.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 9:30am-6:15pm with flexibility. On call availability for emergencies.Compensation: $90,000 – $105,000 (negotiable based on experience) + Health Spending Account. 3 weeks holiday in the winter season. A uniform is partially provided.
