Working within the Group Benefits Marketing – Winning and Retaining Team, the role of the Proposal Consultant is to maximize the potential of each large case proposal to optimize our chance to win new business and retain existing accounts in Group Benefits. This includes managing and taking ownership of the entire RFP lifecycle from receipt to submission. This role is accountable for collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders including Group Benefits Account Executives, subject matter experts, and senior management within the organization to ensure a winning strategy is implemented to deliver on time, top-quality proposals.
The Proposal Consultant is responsible for monitoring Group Benefits’ presale process and the quality of our output – continually recommending efficiencies to optimize our success and working collaboratively with a team of Proposal Consultants. Monitoring also includes identifying industry trends and bringing them to the attention of senior management and the product development team within Group Benefits.
The opportunity:
Successfully manage and respond to Group Benefits RFXs which include consultant and procurement-driven proposal requests, and delivering within client instructions and required deadlines
Collaborate with Account Executives, key stakeholders and subject matter experts to implement strategic vision and win themes that will enhance our chances to win new and retain existing business
Work collaboratively within a group of Proposal and Shortlist Consultants and leverage each other’s knowledge and skillset to reach our common goal to win and retain business in Group Benefits
Deliver regular project management status updates to Winning and Retaining Team
Monitor and refining the RFP process to ensure ongoing efficiencies and improvements

What we are looking for:
Excellent written and oral skills
College or University education within a Marketing or Communications field, or related industry experience/knowledge
3-5+ years of experience minimum, working within a sales and marketing business development role, preferably with RFPs and presentations/shortlists
Experience using RFP software (i.e. Loopio, Qvidian) as well as other software (i.e. Seismic, PowerBI, Smartsheet) a strong asset
Excellent planning and project management skills with a proven ability to execute large/complex concurrent projects within tight timeframes
Solid understanding of group benefits or health and wellness industries a huge asset
Strong technical skills using MS Suite (particularly PowerPoint and Excel) and Acrobat products
Self-starter, proactive, innovative thinking with a keen eye for results and driven by quality
Must be able to work well independently as well as within a team setting
Demonstrated negotiation skills and conflict resolution skills – one on one and in group setting
Exceptional analytical, strategic and problem-solving thinking ability – enabling the candidate to recognize issues, outline possible implications and suggest solutions
Excellent ability to self-manage to meet timelines of multiple priorities
Relationship-oriented; must be comfortable working with a wide range of individuals at different levels, managing across, up and down.

Salary range is expected to be between
$67,275.00 CAD – $112,125.00 CAD
