Our client, a well-respected education provider in Bury, Greater Manchester, is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-time SEN Mentor to join their Pupil Referral Unit (PRU). The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.As an SEN Mentor, you will work closely with students, teachers, and support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Your primary focus will be to provide personalised support and guidance to students, helping them develop the skills and confidence necessary to thrive in their educational journey.Our client offers a competitive salary range of £95-110 per day, in line with experience and qualifications. The position is full-time, providing a stable and rewarding career opportunity for the right candidate.Key responsibilities of the SEN Mentor role include:

• Collaborating with teachers and support staff to develop and implement individualised learning plans for students with SEN
• Providing one-on-one and small group support to students, focusing on academic, social, and emotional development
• Monitoring student progress and adapting support strategies as needed to ensure ongoing success
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation of student progress, interventions, and outcomes
• Communicating regularly with parents, carers, and other professionals to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns
• Participating in relevant training and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in SEN support

To be considered for this position, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• A relevant degree or professional qualification in education, special needs, or a related field
• Proven experience working with students with SEN, preferably within a PRU or similar setting
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
• A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with students who may present challenging behaviours
• A commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students
