PSL350 – Lecturer (Scientific Communication)Course number and title: PSL350H1S Mammalian Molecular BiologyCourse description:Extend molecular biology concepts to current scientific literature in mammalian physiology. Apply these principles to disease and complex behaviours. Discuss bioethical issues raised by these techniques and their application. Benefit from three weeks in small group seminars lead by research professors focusing on current advances in mammalian molecular biology.Estimated course enrolment: 140Estimated TA support: 3-5Class schedule: During the scheduled Arts and Science winter term, with classes Tuesdays 10-12 a.m. and Thursdays 3 – 5 pm.Sessional dates of appointment: January to April 2025Salary: $851.21 for teaching (inclusive of vacation pay)Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.Minimum qualifications: PhD in physiology or related discipline and prior experience in molecular physiology and pathophysiology research.Preferred qualifications: Prior experience in molecular physiology and pathophysiology teaching, as well as in facilitating active learning.Description of duties:Deliver 2 lectures (4 hours total) on scientific communication, These teaching duties represent 9% of the teaching work load for the course.All individuals interested in this position must submit a Curriculum Vitae and the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 application form, available atno later than October 4, 2024, to:Paula SmellieBusiness Manager, Department of Physiology[email protected]This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement.It is understood that some announcements of vacancies are tentative, pending final course determinations and enrolment.
