We are seeking an experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist or equivalent to be Consultant lead for the Psychological Services within our dynamic Community Mental Health Services (ACMHS) within North West Hertfordshire.
- To provide professional leadership, senior clinical leadership and governance across the quadrant for the provision of psychological interventions for service users with mental health difficulties in PbR clusters 5-17.
- In liaison with the Professional Lead for Psychological Services (AMH) and working with other senior clinical leads, to take responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the quadrant. To ensure that systems are in place and working effectively for the clinical and professional supervision and support of all other psychologists and psychological therapists across Quadrant Adult Community Mental Health Service (ACMHS).
- To ensure supervision and support for the psychological assessment and interventions provided by other clinical staff within the quadrant who provide psychologically based care and treatment.
- To act as a highly specialised resource to the wider professional and staff community within the quadrant.
- To contribute to the development of clear systems for effective recruitment, professional appraisal, and the identification of CPD and training needs for psychological services across the locality.

- You will work closely with the Adult Mental Health Psychological Services Lead and will take on additional responsibilities for supporting Adult Mental Health Psychological Services across the trust alongside other Consultant and Senior Therapies Colleagues.

- FOR CLINICAL / COUNSELLING PSYCHOLOGISTS : Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology.
- Further training in a specialised area of psychological practice through formal postdoctoral training (diploma or equivalent), OR a combination of specialist short courses, together with an evidenced portfolio of supervised practice-based learning in a specialist area of clinical practice with an experienced clinical supervisor, at an equivalent level to a postgraduate diploma. Completion of a clinical supervision training (short course) sufficient to be able to supervise doctoral trainees.
- Registered with the HCPC
- OR FOR ADULT PSYCHOTHERAPISTS: Post-graduate training in Psychotherapy provided by one of the Accrediting Organisations of the UKCP leading to Full Clinical Individual Membership of the UKCP, and Membership of one of the UKCP organisational members.
- Or Post-graduate training in Psychotherapy provided by one of the BACP Accredited courses and Accreditation with the BACP.
- Or Post-graduate training in Psychotherapy with a BPC Accredited provider leading to Registration with the BPC.
- Or Post-graduate training in CBT with BABCP Accreditation
- Evidence of further training in treatment techniques or areas of clinical need, and knowledge of management or research. E.g. ? Having taken the Supervisors Course for Adult Psychotherapy.
