The Complex Care and Recovery Program is recruiting for a full-time, permanent Psychologist for the Sexual Behaviours Clinic (SBC) at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). Reporting to the Manager, Forensic Specialty Clinics, the incumbent will work with a dynamic inter-professional team of dedicated clinicians who support people who have offended sexually, individuals with DSM paraphilia’s, individuals who identify with having an attraction to minors, and other clients of the SBC. The successful candidate will conduct psychological and behavioural assessments with standardized instruments, actuarial tools, and clinical interviews. You will provide psychotherapy using evidence-based (e.g., CBT, ACT, DBT, mindfulness) practice to these populations in both one-on-one and group formats. You will train and supervise graduate and postdoctoral students in psychological assessment and treatment. Additionally, you will participate in the treatment planning processes within the SBC, participate in the provision of rehabilitation programs offered within the program and will be expected to contribute to the overall provision of psychological services within the program as required. Other responsibilities include development of program evaluation activities and participation in quality improvement initiatives.   • The candidate must be registered in good standing, in autonomous practice, with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
  • The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in Psychology combined with three (3) years of relevant clinical and research experience in the field of forensic mental health
  • Essential skills include prior training and experience using a range of empirically validated assessment tools and evidence-based treatment modalities (e.g., CBT, ACT, DBT, mindfulness) and related techniques with forensic populations for the prevention of offending behavior and recidivism.
  • Superior aptitude for scholarly activities, including academic writing, statistical analysis, and presenting scientific and sensitive information to professional audiences, to the public, and to the media.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required as is the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, inter-professional team environment
  • The capacity to work with clients of diverse ethno-racial and cultural backgrounds is required
  • Bilingualism (French/English) and proficiency in a second language and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
