Public Affairs intern

TIC Council

TIC Council is recruiting a Public Affairs intern to support the work of the EU Public Affairs team and the pilot project for development of public affairs functions in Africa.

The internship is for six months (possibility of extension by another six months) with a monthly allowance. Starting date: ASAP.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Public Affairs team, specifically relating to European sustainability and digitalisation topics: research, policy monitoring, drafting of public event and Parliamentary hearing summaries, support preparation of internal and external meetings, and support to develop advocacy strategies
  • Support the work of various Committees, specifically the Africa Committee, with the following tasks: organization of meetings, drafting of minutes and action plans, follow-up with stakeholders
  • Support in event logistics, ie promotion, registration tracking, venue organization, and event follow-up activities

Profile

  • Knowledge of EU-decision making processes is a must, acquired through studies or previous professional experience
  • Fluency required in English (oral and written), fluent French is an asset for work with Africa committee, other language skills are welcome
  • Preferred fields of study: International Relations, European Affairs, Economics or Business, Administration, Public Policy, European Law
  • Quick learner who can easily adapt to the fast-paced workplace
  • Conscientious, responsible, ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Strong written communication skills
