Job Summary

The Public Relations Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communication initiatives to enhance the organization’s image and strengthen its relationships with key stakeholders. The role requires strong media management, content supervision, crisis communication skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal and external partners. The ideal candidate should be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling high-level public relations activities with professionalism and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and Implementing Public Relations Strategies
  • Formulate long-term and short-term PR strategies aligned with the organization’s objectives.
  • Oversee media campaigns to ensure consistency and effectiveness in messaging.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists and media outlets.
  • Supervise preparing and distributing press releases, media interviews, and official statements.
  • Develop and implement crisis response plans to effectively manage any adverse media situations.
  • Provide strategies to mitigate negative publicity and uphold the organization’s reputation.
  • Review and prepare official communication materials such as articles, publications, and speeches.
  • Draft media briefing notes for official spokespersons.
  • Collaborate with different departments to ensure alignment in messaging.
  • Represent the organization at media meetings, official events, and conferences.
  • Oversee the coordination of official events, seminars, and workshops in collaboration with the logistics team.
  • Coordinate with partner organizations on joint events and media engagements.
  • Respect and apply all PSEA principles and show high commitment to report any SEA and safeguarding action.

Qualification, Experience, and Technical Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in public relations, media, or communications.
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
  • Strong knowledge of media relations and crisis communication strategies.
  • Experience in managing press releases, media campaigns, and stakeholder communications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media management tools.
  • Ability to draft compelling content and official correspondence.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism in managing sensitive information.
