This is an exciting opportunity to for anyone looking for a first time role in publishing administration or for someone who simply likes a role where they have to be organised and methodical.This role will support the editorial team by managing admin related tasks and reports and ensuring consistency across the division.In order to achieve commissioning targets, year on year revenue and title growth, commercial viability, author care and service it is important to make sure that routine tasks get done well and on time. This role will be pivotal to the success of the wider team by adding a layer of support that currently does not exist.The role will report into a Commissioning Editor or Senior Publisher.The role

  • Supervise the ordering and delivery of gratis books for Academic authors, contributors, reviewers and others as required
  • Manage US copyright registration and CIP applications for a frontlist of 1300+ new titles a year
  • Organise invoices and payments for peer reviewers and other suppliers of Academic Editorial services as necessary
  • Liaise with Bloomsbury Accounts team to ensure the prompt and accurate payment of authors, peer reviewers and other Academic Editorial suppliers
  • Organise paperwork for weekly Academic Publishing Meetings as required
  • General administrative tasks as required

We would be open to interviewing candidates who don’t have a publishing background but are looking for a permanent administrative roleAdditional informationThe role is a full-time permanent positionSalary Pay Point: £27,000 per annumThe role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid-working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred). Allocated office days for this role are: Wednesday and ThursdayAs an Assistant role, this position is eligible for Bloomsbury’s Rental Deposit Loan Scheme. To assist candidates who want to start and to establish a career in publishing, Bloomsbury offers an interest-free rental deposit to support securing somewhere to live.
