And that’s what we do: our customized sand control solutions allow us to respond quickly to the ever-changing variability of our customers vertical and horizontal well operations.With our headquarters in Calgary, and manufacturing facilities in Leduc, we also have field offices in California, Swift Current, Brooks, Lloydminster, and Provost Alberta.Job Title:Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator – 18 Month Leave CoverageDepartment:Calgary ManufacturingReports to:Supply Chain ManagerPosition Summary:Working within the Supply Chain team, the Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator is to control the purchasing of and maintaining inventory levels for raw materials, shop consumables, parts and other consumables while maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy and integrity. The purchasing and inventory coordinator will be required to communicate with the various departments and work across all business units and legal company entities.Work Schedule:This position may involve various shifts and overtime hours depending on the scope of workDuties:

  • Review material consumption and costing data for jobs.
  • Troubleshoot discrepancies in job costing.
  • Close jobs after final reviews are complete.
  • Perform tool conversions.
  • Process Variperm field service paperwork.
  • Aid in the preparation of bids, requests for quote, requests for proposal, requests for information, and other vendor documentation.
  • Issue purchase orders in accordance with Variperm’s purchasing process.
  • Purchase materials as required to meet demand of job order requirements.
  • Follow up with vendors on delivery timelines, and keep expected purchase receipt dates up to date in Variperm’s ERP.
  • Keep accurate records of transactions between vendors and Variperm.
  • Research and survey buying markets to source the most optimal suppliers, in accordance with corporate objectives.
  • Provide product, storage and order information to all internal departments as requested.
  • Gather and consolidate information for manufacturing, supply chain, and finance teams.
  • Participate in inventory cycle counts.
  • Keep accurate records of inventory levels, transactions and location for easy retrieval.
  • Communicating with all department managers and lead hands on inventory levels as and when required.
  • Accurate data entry, processing, and document control.
  • Adhering to all policies and follow established procedures.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders.
  • Strong writing and document control skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, Business Central and Great Plains.
  • Basic mathematical skills with ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages and averages required.
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments and key business partners.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Able to physically inspect company property and assets.
