The Quality Assurance Analyst, Jr will perform analysis of documented user requirements and assist in the design of test plans in support of user requirements. The Quality Assurance Analyst, Jr will review user application system requirements documentation, design, define, and document unit and application test plans, transform test plans into test scripts, and execute those scripts. The Quality Assurance Analyst, Jr will ensure that testing conclusions and recommendations are fully supported by test results and that deviations from documented user requirements are reported.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Senior QA Analyst and Development Teams to understand requirements, and document test plans, test scripts/cases, and test results.

  • Work with developers at all stages to promote quality.

  • Produce test plans, and test reports, and ensure they are followed and adhere to project standards and requirements.

  • Manage bugs in Jira and write acceptance criteria.

  • Reproduce Jira bug reports from the field and write clear steps to reproduce.

  • Develop and run automated regression testing.

  • Verify the load, scalability, and performance requirements have been met.

  • Work with developers to perform root-cause analysis and preliminary problem diagnosis.

  • Execute test cases and document results.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience as a QA/Test Analyst in a software development environment.

  • Jenkins, Jira/Confluence, Zephyr, and FitNesse experience.

  • Possess and maintain a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.

  • Background check required

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with Agile and/or federal software development environments preferred.

  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral).

  • Strong customer service and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to listen and understand what is being described by the end user as well as the ability to explain problem resolutions when necessary.

  • Ability to analytically address complex problems, process critical data, establish facts, and draw quality conclusions.

  • Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to analyze system functionality with customers and resolve production issues.

  • Ability to work well under pressure with some tight deadlines and ambiguity on some projects.

  • Ability to occasionally work after hours and/or do on-call support.

  • Experience with systems and software architecture.

  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision or guidance.
