Summary:

The Quality Control Technologist for Mammography covers multiple locations for Rush breast imaging and is responsible for overseeing and performing quality control (QC) procedures for our mammography equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining the highest level of image quality and patient safety. This role provides guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective QC operations and leads all QC inspections and accreditations for the team. Required Job Qualifications:

• State licensure as a radiologic technologist.

• ARRT certification in Mammography from an approved mammography program.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a mammography technologist, with demonstrated expertise in QC procedures and regulatory compliance.

• Strong knowledge of mammography equipment operation, image acquisition techniques, and quality control methodologies.

• Experience with QC software and digital imaging systems preferred.

• Understanding of Mammography Quality Standards ACT (MQSA), American College of Radiology (ACR) guidelines, and state licensure.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

• Commitment to patient safety, quality assurance, and professional development.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine quality control tests on mammography equipment according to established protocols and regulatory requirements.

• Monitor and analyze QC data to identify trends, deviations, and areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive QC documentation, including test results, equipment maintenance records, and regulatory compliance reports.

• Train and mentor technicians on QC procedures, equipment operation, and radiation safety practices.

• Collaborate with radiologists, physicists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize image quality and patient care outcomes.

• Participate in the installation and commissioning of new mammography equipment, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and regulatory standards.

• Stay current with advances in mammography technology, quality assurance guidelines, and regulatory requirements, and incorporate best practices into QC protocols.

• Serve as a liaison to management, providing regular updates on equipment performance, QC metrics, and compliance status.

• Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to mammography QC, radiation safety, and patient care.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the QC team, promoting teamwork, professionalism, and excellence in all aspects of QC operations.

• Manage daily Radiologist workstation cleaning.

• Participate and lead all QC inspections for Rush Breast Imaging locations.

• Participate and lead all accreditations for mammography, ultrasound, and MRI for Rush Breast Imaging locations.

• Manage and maintain Breast Imaging Center of Excellence for Rush Breast Imaging locations.
