Job Summary:Provides leadership and direction to the Quality department regarding quality of product to meet or exceed customer requirements.Required Education and Experience:
- University or College degree in Engineering, Math or Sciences or Quality Related Studies
- Five years’ managerial experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in automotive
- Knowledge of Quality and Environmental standards – IATF 16949 & ISO 14001
- Extensive knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements
- IATF 16949 lead auditor certification is preferred

Essential Functions:
- Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
- Ensure compliance to established procedures and policies
- Liaison with all customers
- Ensure the quality systems are in place for incoming/outgoing material
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process and quality system
- Stop production, if necessary to correct quality problems
- Verify the implementation of solutions
- Control further processing, delivery or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected
- Responsible for the support of new launches through PPAP, Control Plan, support on PFMEA development and maintain documentation
- Represent the needs of the customer in internal functions in addressing IATF requirements and ensure the quality system is established, implemented and maintained in accordance to the standard
- Report on the performance of the quality system to the executive management
- Maintain quality records and files as directed by procedures, instruction, methods, reports, etc.
- Conduct ongoing audits for compliance to procedures, instructions, methods, reports, etc.
- Ensure training, competency and performance of staff
- Coordinate problem investigation and completion of all customer requirements
- Contribute to ongoing improvements to throughput and operational expense
- Provide reports and documentation of key measurables as required, and maintain a system for communicating ongoing performance
- Communicate ongoing assessments of current staff assignment and requirements
- Provide written performance appraisals and personal development plans for all Quality staff
- Desire to learn the business, understand the production process by walking the floor and participation in production meetings
- Respecting and understanding of the Customer/supplier relationship
- Oversee suppliers to ensure that suppliers meet IATF 16949 and our internal quality requirements. Work together with the purchasing department to address supplier issues and drive continuous improvements.
- Maintain the SCOGO system, issue Supplier Non-Conformance Reports (SNCR), and ensure corrective actions are followed through to closure.
- Review hold material daily and authorize disposition to the Quality Engineer (QE).
- Monitor lab activities and provide guidance on a day-to-day basis.
- Reporting and KPIs: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality performance. Provide regular reports to senior management on quality metrics, issues, and improvement initiatives.
- PFMEA and Control Plans: Create, edit, and manage Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plans using corporate-provided Software(DATALYZER). Ensure alignment with customer requirements and best practices for risk mitigation.
