We’re making remarkable progress and growing fast.About the roleAs a Quantum Error Correction Researcher at Riverlane, you will help us to develop the world’s first Quantum Error Correction (QEC) stack that will unlock useful quantum computing.This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of Riverlane’s more theory-focused quantum error correction teams, which works to understand how future large-scale error-corrected calculations will be run on quantum computing hardware. This team is a mix of mathematicians, physicists and software developers, working together on a range of exciting and cutting-edge projects.Collaborating extensively with other teams within Riverlane, as well as with world-leading external partners, this critical work will directly contribute to Riverlane’s Quantum Error Correction Stack.What you will do
- Explore existing and develop new QEC protocols
- Work with hardware partners to propose and optimise QEC experiments
- Write code to test scientific ideas and contribute to software-focused products
- Share expertise and collaborate with other teams at Riverlane to guide development of various parts of the QEC stack
- Write papers and present work at conferences
RequirementsWhat we need
- PhD in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Proven ability to undertake high-quality theoretical work (for example, through publications)
- Knowledge of at least one programming language
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to discuss complex ideas with a variety of audiences in a clear and simple way
Even better if you have…
- Experience driving the direction of scientific work
- Experience in quantum computing
- Knowledge of QEC
- Knowledge of Python and/or C++
