The R&D Engineer II contributes to the development of software and supporting systems for ConceptEV, a cloud based electric vehicle simulation tool. In this role, the R&D Engineer II will collaborate with a team of expert professionals and use technical and problem-solving skills to understand customer requirements and accomplish development objectives. Asa graduate with a good scientific degree and some software development experience, you will join a growing and dynamic team to develop class-leading software. This is an excellent opportunity to bring your software skills to make a big impact in electric vehicle design and sustainable clean energy products.Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems
- Perform bug verification, testing and beta support
- Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions using a combination of software engineering skills and understanding of physical principles
- Participate and contribute to regular planning meetings
- Work in a team under the general supervision of a lead developer
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
- BSc/MSc/PhD in Physics, Maths, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Experience of software development and/or computational numerical analysis in a commercial or academic setting with the use of Python
- Passion for creating high-quality software solutions to multi-physics problems
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Exposure to software development processes including automated testing and version control
- Strong aptitude in Physics and Mathematics
- Experience with cloud technologies including REST APIs
- Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
