Job Description
- Write and develop articles, guides, and content highlighting the humanitarian services offered by various national and international organizations.
- Develop service mapping content initially in either English or a national language, and then translate it into Dari, Pashto, and English, ensuring accuracy and relevance for each language.
- Identify service providers through IRC departments, online sources, field teams, or field visits. Collect information using specific tools or forms.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with service providers, ensuring continuous communication to maintain the accuracy and consistency of information on the service map.
- Conduct orientations for service providers on how to use the service map effectively and solicit feedback to improve its usability.
- Maintain ongoing communication with the Signpost Global technical team, providing input on website, strategy, features, and troubleshooting issues.
- Review and upload content using CMS/Directus platforms, ensuring alignment with the requirements and guidelines of Signpost Global.
- Design relevant posters for service mapping content in coordination with Graphic Designers, aiding in the visualization of information.
- Work closely with Afghanistan’s Signpost team (Beporsed) to verify service information and suggest effective content delivery methods to targeted audiences.
- Provide input and support in other Signpost activities as requested by supervisors to achieve the goals and objectives of Signpost.
Qualifications
- At least bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications, literature, law, social science, or any related field; master’s are preferred.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in media, report writing, content development, website, social media, radio, or TV content development.
- Report writing, website content development, and translations.
- Initial knowledge of Content Management Systems (CMS)
- Strong writing and communication skills in Dari, Pashto, and English.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with content management systems and basic graphic design principles is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Manage time effectively, have the ability to multi-task, and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail, collaboration with a team, adaptability, and receptiveness to feedback and direction.
- Must have experience in Journalism and Media content development
