Job description

Queen’s Business School (QBS) at Queen’s University Belfast is seeking to appoint one or more exceptional candidates to the post of Reader/Professor in Information Systems/International Business/Entrepreneurship. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to shape the future direction of QBS and support the launch and delivery of new postgraduate offerings in AI management, Digital business, Technology management, Strategy analytics and Social innovation. Our supportive research environment enables attendance at international conferences, facilitates the pursuit of high-quality publications and fosters meaningful engagement with non-academic stakeholders. The appointed candidates will get the opportunity to interact and work with colleagues whose research is internationally renowned for excellence and societal impact.About the person:Successful candidates’ application should clearly demonstrate:

  • A PhD in Information Systems/International Business/Entrepreneurship or cognate fields.
  • A distinguished programme of international research activity and dissemination of original Information Systems/International Business/Entrepreneurship research in line with accepted norms for Reader/Professor.
  • A sustained publication record of international excellence in Information Systems/International Business/Entrepreneurship in line with accepted norms for Reader/Professor.
  • Significant experience of teaching and assessing modules at university level in one or more of the following areas: Technology for social impact, Management of AI, Strategy analytics, Making ethical business decisions, Digital innovation and transformation, Technology strategy and entrepreneurship, Digital trade.
  • Demonstrable excellence in classroom teaching or/and online delivery of teaching.
  • Experience of providing leadership to the wider scholarly community (e.g., decision-making editorial roles inpeer-reviewed journals) or experience of providing academic leadership at a strategic level (e.g. Director of taught programmes/PhD programme).
  • Demonstrable ability to advance the teaching and research goals of QBS.
