The incumbent will be working in UNDP’s project office at the address 58, Chochua Street, Sukhumi. There are 2 floors in the building with one adjacent one-storey building used by UNDP projects. The incumbent should demonstrate dedication and commitment to the work and strictly adhere to the office rules and regulations.

Provision of general reception and information services
- Manage and plan the front desk coverage.
- Monitor all visitors to the office; provide assistance to visitors by giving them directions and accurate information related to UNDP.
- Maintain information in the surveillance system, resolve minor technical problems, and report to the telephone service provider for regular maintenance and repair.
Provision of Security Support services
- Provide security inspection services for the building and surroundings during the day;
- Ensure access control to the UNDP project office, check visitors and their belongings, screen vehicles parked by the premises;
- Maintain orderand identify any surveillance directed at the UNDP project office;
- Prevent unwanted visitors from entering the building;
- Check and inspect incoming mail before further distribution;
- In the event of any emergency follow the procedures / SOPs outlined in the Guidelines for the Security Guards of the UN Offices;
- Ensuring fire extinguishers are provided and located throughout the UNDP project office and the staff is familiar with the use of them in the working order;
- Assist in conducting drills for rapid evacuation of premises twice a year for UNDP staff and personnel.
Provision of logistic support services
- Manage and ensure the timely maintenance of the office generator.
- Manage and ensure the proper functioning of surveillance security equipment (i.e. cameras, access control system etc.).
The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.
Institutional Arrangement
The Receptionist/Security Guard will work under the overall guidance Specialist – Team Leader for Crisis Prevention and Recovery (CPR) and direct supervision of the UNDP’s Partnership for Resilience Programme (PRP) Project Manager, and in tight coordination with UNDSS FSCO who will provide him/her with technical support/oversight.

Education:
Min. Education requirements – Secondary Education is required.
Min. years of relevant work experience – Minimum 2 years (with secondary education) of previous experience in administrative and logistics in international organizations is required.
Required/Desired skills
- Experience in working as Guard in the offices having specific security systems required;
- Experience in the use of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and knowledge of web-based management systems required;
- Experience in maintaining the special logs of visitors required;
- Experience in working with security video equipment will be highly desirable.
Required Language(s)
- Intermediate knowledge of English (both written and oral) is required;
Fluency in Russian is required;
Knowledge of Abkhaz and Georgian language would be an asset.
Professional Certificates Having certificate in security will be an asset.
