Recycling Advisors (Doorstep Engagement): Wakefield

We’re looking to appoint a team of six people to visit households in Wakefield to promote good recycling practices!

The Mobius Agency is a multi-discipline, specialist behaviour change communications company
providing support to public sector institutions around the world in the fields of environmental
sustainability, resource and waste management. We have worked with over 160 UK local
authorities developing campaigns and initiatives that have been effective in improving
recycling and behaviours towards sustainability. In Wakefield, we are working on behalf of
Biffa and Wakefield Council but for the avoidance of doubt, The Mobius Agency will be the
employer.

Role Description

As a Recycling Advisor, you will be engaging with residents directly at their doorsteps to
educate and promote correct recycling practices, to check that they know how to recycle
properly, provide advice where needed and encouragement to recycle more. You will work closely
with the team to ensure that set targets are met, and accurate reports are provided. All work
will be carried out within the Wakefield area.

This is a fixed-term contract expected to run for five to six weeks.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with the public
• Ability to manage time effectively and work both independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of environmental and recycling practices desirable but not essential
• Excellent organisational and reporting skills
• Physical ability to walk long distances and stand for extended periods
• Previous experience in a public-facing or educational role is an advantage
