Regional Programme & Operations Lead – ECA

We are looking for someone to fill in a vacant role of the Regional Programme & Operations Lead who will contribute to the leadership of the ECA region by providing strategic direction and guidance to country programmes in the region. The role will be responsible for managing a team of skilled individuals to provide essential support and coordination at regional level to country programmes in the areas of programme planning, design, monitoring, evaluation & learning (DMEAL), operational support and quality assurance, business development, effectiveness & impact and communications. The role will support the implementation of the regional strategy and programme performance and support country teams to deliver effective country strategies and plans. The role will support monitoring country programmes’ compliance with internal quality standards, policies and practises and ensure they meet agreed standards. The Regional Programme & Operations Lead will coordinate closely with the Regional Director, Country Directors, Operations & Assurance, finance, Integrated Media & Communications and Global Impact Team and to feed information and learning back into Regional and global level management.

Experience Required:

  • Do you have a degree and/or equivalent qualification in humanitarian development, management or any related field?
  • Do you have a Substantial experience in a similar position at a regional, country or senior managerial level?
  • Do you have extensive progressive experience in the areas relevant to this position, such as Operations, Assurance, DMEAL?
  • Do you have experience in management and leadership positions in INGO?
  • Do you have experience in engagement with compliance of partner programming?
  • Do you have experience in training and/or mentoring/coaching?
  • Do you have experience of oversight of compliance and security?
  • Do you have experience in monitoring and evaluation?

  • Good knowledge of donor reporting and financial requirements.
  • Proven computer literacy, including good knowledge of the Google suite.

Please note:

This role requires up to 25% of the time to travel to the following countries: South Sudan, DRC, CAR, Burundi, Ethiopia, and Rwanda. It is essential that the successful candidate will have the ability to travel to all the six countries.

The successful candidate will need to have the right to live and work within one of the above mentioned countries.

A competitive salary and benefits package will be offered for the role on national contract with employment terms & Conditions of the country where he/she will be based..
