And, we value your commitment to treat every person on our team with respect, helping us to operate safely, protect the environment and make a positive contribution to our local communities.ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYBased at the Detour Lake Mine site, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Reliability Lubrication Technician to join our Process Plant Maintenance team reporting to the Senior Reliability Specialist.Detour Lake is the second largest gold producing mine in Canada with the largest gold reserves and substantial growth potential. The open pit mine is located in northeastern Ontario, approximately 300 kilometres northeast of Timmins and 185 kilometres by road northeast of Cochrane, within the northernmost Abitibi Greenstone Belt. The mine is situated in the area of the historic Detour Lake open pit/underground mine operated by Placer Dome which produced 1.8 million ounces of gold from 1983 to 1999. The Detour Lake operation has a mine life of approximately 22 years with an average gold production of 659,000 ounces per year.Agnico Eagle Mines’ Detour Lake Mine is situated on the traditional homelands of the Apitipi Anicinapek Nation, Moose Cree First Nation, and Taykwa Tagamou Nation. This ensures that we can consider your application appropriately in line with our dedication to supporting our Partner Nations.The Reliability Lubrication Technician will work with the process plant maintenance team to assist operations and technical personnel in identifying and solving day-to-day reliability issues.RESPONSIBILITIESYour responsibilities will include:
- Improve/Perform preventive maintenance lube routes on process plant equipment;
- Identify and act on opportunities to coach site personnel on reliability, maintenance and condition monitoring concepts;
- Investigate and troubleshoot to assist operations and technical personnel in identifying and solving day-to-day reliability issues;
- Conduct and provide support for root cause analysis of failures;
- Make appropriate modifications/repairs to production and maintenance equipment;
- Identification, development and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities;
- Ensure safe and efficient maintenance of equipment and identify any potential risks;
- Properly follow company’s policies and Ontario Health & Safety Regulations for safe working procedures and environment;
- Ability to analyze operational data (PI), equipment performance history (SAP), evaluate production losses, failure rates and the maintenance costs will be an asset.
QUALIFICATIONSOur ideal candidate has:
- Red seal trade certification or related technical diploma is required;
- Past experience in equipment lubrication is preferred;
- MLT1, MLT2, MLA1 and MLA2 certification would be considered an asset;
- A demonstrated level of knowledge in maintenance and reliability principles and processes;
- Strong knowledge of predictive maintenance tools (oil sampling, thermography, alignment, Ultrasound, geometric tolerances, reading engineering drawing, etc.);
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment;
- Knowledge of maintenance best practices with respect to predictive, preventive and condition based maintenance management principles as applied to mills, crushers, cyclones, screens, centrifugal pumps, hydraulic system, bearings, piping, compressors, conveyors, chutes, etc.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to mentor on reliability concepts and the ability to facilitate group discussions;
- Good computer skills and ability to use relevant software (Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook, Word, Pi and SAP);
- Experience working in a remote site is considered an asset;
- A willingness to travel for training is preferred.
