As a Utility Settlement Analyst, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team that delivers outsourced billing and settlement services for some of Alberta’s leading energy retailers. The working hours are 8-5 MST timezone.What your impact will be:
- Perform settlement functions across a suite of multi-jurisdictional clients. Using checks and validations to ensure all settlement and billing outputs are generated as expected.
- Maintain a current knowledge of settlement activities for the purposes of interpreting and applying contractual obligations as they apply to financial payments and penalties and maintain an awareness of industry developments in settlement technologies and practices.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of current settlement processes, collaborating with Research and Development to implement efficiencies and improvements as needed.
- Assist in producing business process and documentation for settlements activities. Assist in providing written procedural instructions, advice, guidance, and training regarding the settlement process.
- Perform reconciliations to ensure all settlement and billing transactions have been invoiced as expected.
- Monitoring of market transactions for successful file load.
- Expertly handle escalated support tickets, working directly with customers to deliver exceptional service and resolve transaction discrepancies.
- Collaborate with Research and Development to oversee bug fixes and software enhancements, ensuring high-quality product improvements.
- Use discretion to implement timely solutions to problems, aiming to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize downtime.
- Gather comprehensive information to categorize requests, determine resolution methods, and develop process guides and documentation.
- Exercise sound professional judgment in problem analysis to:
+ Attempt software solutions via online support, or
+ Determine the appropriate level of maintenance needed to address issues.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as required, adapting to evolving business needs and objectives.
