Throughout our corporate documentation, in our management structures, academic role profiles, promotions criteria and clearly stated priorities research is central. What we seek is research that will directly inform teaching, contribute to the building up of a strong academic community and have a positive impact on society. To facilitate further progress towards this goal the University wishes to appoint an experienced and successful Research and Innovation Facilitator to take responsibility for all aspects of identifying, securing and accounting for sources of research funding and for promoting and widening the impact of the University’s research as well as managing the research grants. Working alongside academics from Post-Doctoral Fellow to Professor across all ten Schools, your role will be to manage and take overall responsibility for supporting the securing of research funds and for enhancing, widening and deepening the impact of Hope’s work and research. This will include encouraging, supporting and assisting colleagues to develop grant applications and research bids from the modest to the ambitious. You will be responsible for identifying potential sources of research income, initiating bids, seeing them through to submission, accounting for research income and promoting dissemination of outputs. Your skills will include excellent data-gathering, productive liaison with others, facilitating the writing of research bids and grant applications, an ability to manage projects, meticulous record keeping and reporting and an ability to promote the University’s research externally. It is imperative that you possess precise skills in the area of the writing of research bids and grants such that you are able not only to support colleagues but to take a well-informed and highly-skilled lead. You will be the first point of call for academics seeking funding opportunities and ways in which to disseminate research outputs widely.We are looking for a senior colleague who will show initiative and drive and be able not only to coordinate but actively to manage research funding and dissemination.For an informal and confidential conversation about this post, please contact:Professor Atulya K.
