This position in our lab may be a great fit for you! In this position, the Research Assistant will be supervised by the Principal Investigator Dr. Puneeta Tandon and delegates to organize and perform the day-to-day operations of the clinical research studies assigned to them.Dr. Tandon is a Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. She leads a team of graduate students and research assistants who are working on a number of exciting projects aimed at developing and evaluating patient-centred, practical solutions to improve the care of people with liver cirrhosis and other chronic diseases.Areas of focus include cirrhosis quality improvement ( ), frailty assessment, nutrition, exercise and mental wellness therapies. Uniquely, the team has been focused on creating and evaluating digital technology (web-based programs and apps) to help to deliver these solutions. Please see https://www.ualberta.ca/folio/2024/02/beyond-treatment-online-wellness-program-a-game-changer.html as well as Dr. Tandon and team publications on Pubmed.The successful candidate will join a dynamic team and be involved with ongoing clinical research projects collecting data in these diverse areas.The position may include but is not limited to: recruiting subjects; coordinating subject research visits; collecting data via questionnaires and qualitative interviews, maintain proper ethics procedures, and other data-gathering processes as required; recording data in local and shared databases; drafting ethics applications and providing ongoing written and oral communication with the Research Ethics Board; monitoring study progress; assisting with manuscript preparation and submission.Duties
